Simon Massey

Simon is the founder of Accountable Recruitment and now has over 24 years in the recruitment industry, spanning two continents.

His vision was to enhance the recruitment experience for candidates and clients alike, bringing honesty, strong ethics and a straightforward approach, which has been immensely successful.

Simon manages the business and is the first to admit he couldn’t do this without the fantastic support he receives from his senior leadership team.   Simon is directly responsible for Executive Recruitment, running the prestigious annual Finance Director Awards programme in conjunction with partners, Brabners, KPMG and HSBC, and the quarterly Executive & FD Club and HRD club events.

He is a well liked and trusted recruitment partner, having built a successful brand over the last 9 years and developed a talented team of recruiters.


Not one to stand still, Simon splits his spare time between his young family and trying to watch as much sport as permits which can be quite a challenge given his busy lifestyle.

Lauren Harrison

SENIOR BUSINESS DIRECTOR - QUALIFIED DIVISION

Lauren joined Accountable in 2018 after 10 years’ experience working in recruitment across the North West. She has worked across Professional Services markets focussing on Accountancy & Finance. Here at Accountable Lauren manages the North West Region team whilst also being directly responsible for Permanent Qualified positions. 

Lauren has built strong candidate and client relationships over the years; she has a strong and flexible work ethic and is committed to supporting you with her open and honest approach.

Lauren has a strong network and her client portfolio ranges from large blue chip companies to entrepreneurial SME’s, many of which are private equity backed.

In her spare time, Lauren is kept busy with her young daughter and socialising with friends. Additionally, she is an avid reader, particularly motivational self-help books and podcasts.

Paul Roberts

Director - Interim Division and Operational Lead 

For 8 years Paul managed recruitment offices across Liverpool, Warrington and Chester and he was ranked as one of the top 2 Managers in the world, for two consecutive years, when working for a large international recruitment business.

For the past 5 years Paul has successfully completed his CIPD qualification whilst working as an HR professional, but has once again been drawn back to recruitment. His friendly, down to earth approach with both candidates and clients, enables him to build genuine long lasting, working relationships.

His success is driven by his market knowledge and his ability to match technical skills and personality to meet client expectations.

In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his young family and competes at sports such as football, golf and triathlons.

Gráinne Massey

Director

With an expansive background spanning education, HR, in- house recruitment and executive recruitment in Ireland Australia and her adopted home of Liverpool, Gráinne brings a wealth of experience to her role as Director of Accountable Recruitment. Working within the Executive Recruitment team at Accountable, Gráinne is respected for her warm, approachable and professional manner. Valuing long lasting relationships Grainne focuses on trust, honesty and efficiency throughout all her dealings with her clients and candidates.

 

With two busy kids and a new puppy, free time is at premium! Gráinne tries to get home to Ireland as often as possible but also enjoys a day out at Anfield.

Louise Garforth

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Louise joined Accountable Recruitment in June 2019 to work closely with Simon and the team to drive the business development strategy within the North West region, with a particular emphasis on delivering new business, enhancing existing relationships and supporting Simon to ensure the successful delivery of the Finance Director Awards.

Louise has developed insights into commercial development and winning new business across multiple industries within the private, public, and not for profit sectors and has grown a strong network of senior executive level contacts whom she keeps in regular contact with.

In her spare time Louise can usually be found hanging out on the Wirral with her husband and family - juggling a myriad of extra-curricular activities like being a dance mum and Brownies and has recently taken up running and golf!

Chris Lloyd

Business Director

For over a decade, Christopher Lloyd thrived at a large multinational recruitment organisation, where he established their Merseyside & Cheshire West region before launching their Liverpool office. Now Business Director at Accountable Recruitment, Chris specialises in senior-level positions within the Fixed Term & Interim Accountancy market across the North West.

 

Christopher's success stems from his extensive market knowledge and his adeptness at matching the right skills and personalities with client needs. His approachable and personable manner has enabled him to build genuine, long-lasting relationships with both clients and candidates.

 

Outside of work, Christopher enjoys spending quality time with his family, staying active at the gym and is a long-suffering Wigan Athletic supporter.

Megan Hughes

BUSINESS DIRECTOR - HR DIVISION

Megan joined accountable recruitment in 2019 having worked in the recruitment industry since 2015 and relocating to the North West.   Megan has a combined passion for sourcing talent and developing long-term and sustained candidate and client relationships.       

 

Megan is now heading up the adaptable recruitment HR division. She is a specialist HR Recruiter and her greatest contribution to the organisation lies in her natural ability to interact positively with people, in combination with her strong drive to achieve worthwhile results. Megan approach is both strategic and personable, believing that successful recruitment goes beyond ticking boxes on a CV. It’s about understanding the culture and values of both the client and the candidate, ensuring the right fit for long-term success.

 

When not in work, Megan enjoys cooking, time spent with family and keeping fit.  Good food shared with friends is also high on Megan’s agenda.

Rachael Jones

BUSINESS DIRECTOR

Rachael has 27 years recruitment experience working for a multinational recruitment business, specialising in non-qualified finance appointments across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Over the years she has built many strong candidate and client relationships with an honest straight talking and no-nonsense approach. She has experience of working with a diverse client database ranging from growing SMEs to large blue-chip multinationals.

In her spare time, she frequents the gym, attends Zumba and dance classes and loves going to concerts and the ballet. She obviously loves the finer things in life and eating in swanky restaurants!

Joanna Marsden

BUSINESS DIRECTOR

Joanna specialises in Permanent Qualified Roles across Chester, Cheshire and North Wales.  She is a passionate and dedicated recruiter with over 20 years’ experience delivering permanent, contract and temporary recruitment solutions to SME, Blue Chip, Limited and Public Sector organisations. 

 

Joanna spent the earlier part of her career building a commendable reputation within a multinational finance recruiter, where she was responsible for high growth office, team and regional management.  More recently she has been instrumental in growing an independent business covering Finance, HR, Procurement and Marketing recruitment. Joanna has developed strong relationships with both candidates and clients over the years, built on a friendly, knowledgeable and honest approach.

 

Joanna is a competitive runner, she has completed several marathons and endurance events and has represented England Master in 5k, 10k and half marathon. When she isn’t running, bike riding or strength training, she can usually be found dragging her family up a mountain.

Rebecca Butler

Rebecca is a key member of our high performing qualified recruitment team, directly responsible for qualified roles across Warrington and the North West region.    

 

Rebecca joined the Accountable team in October 2019 having worked in Accountancy / Finance recruitment across the North West for 15 years. Subsequently bringing with her 15 years’ worth of client and candidate relationships and specialist market knowledge across the sector.

 

Rebecca’s flexible work ethic enables her to adapt to your specific needs, offering a truly bespoke service every time. Her consultative and honest approach has allowed her to forge long and successful working relationships across the region.

 

In her spare time…. Rebecca has no spare time! She is kept very busy with her two young children. Weekends are spent exploring the beaches and countryside of the Wirral coastline where she lives with her husband. Her hobbies are enjoying a glass of wine in the local pub, oh and running and reading.

OFFICE MANAGER

With over 18 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, as a Sales Support/Talent Specialist, June is uniquely placed to support the team at Accountable and is crucial to our ongoing growth and success.

 

With experience predominantly in the Finance & Accounting sector she has also worked in Education and Healthcare recruitment and has a wealth of knowledge and superb administrative and support skills.

 

June previously worked with Simon 14 years earlier, when they set up an office for an international recruitment firm in Liverpool, so we are delighted to have her on board once more.

 

Spare time is mainly taken up with her young daughter and spending time with family and friends!

Nichola joined the team in 2022. Originally from Ireland, she relocated to Liverpool following 8 years working in Sales Management in the Beauty Industry.

Nichola is highly motivated with a commitment to providing a positive experience for both candidates and clients. She has a friendly and approachable persona which ensures long-lasting relationships are developed.

HEAD OF PEOPLE AND PERFORMANCE

Fiona has worked in the recruitment sector since 2003. Having nearly 20 years’ experience, she gained CIPD 5 Associate status in 2021 and moved into a specialist HR performance management role. She is bringing a mix of recruitment know-how and analytical focus to the operational delivery within the Accountable and Adaptable teams, to supercharge and maximise success!

In her spare time she is focused on her two daughters and their hobbies whilst also staying active via swimming and cycling, alongside tuning into podcasts and crime dramas.

Having relocated from Oxford two years prior, he has now firmly established himself within region. Jack Wiseman

Jack started his journey in recruitment in 2013 after graduating from the University of Chester. With over 10 years’ experience of placing part qualified accountants in the North West, he joined Accountable to help grow the part-qualified division, specifically within Chester, Cheshire and North Wales.

 

During his career he has developed numerous key relationships with clients and candidates across the North West and has supplied numerous businesses with key finance personnel.

 

Outside of work Jack's time is taken up by 2 young children and spending whatever spare time he can find, in the gym or playing golf.
