FINANCIAL CONTROLLER // Interim to Perm role with an immediate start available // Cheshire based
£60,000 - hybrid working // 37.5 hours a week // 25 days holiday + bank holidays // Travel to Congleton twice per week
A rapidly expanding, business in Cheshire (Congleton) is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller in a newly created role to help with growth of the business.
Reporting to the FD, this is the perfect position for someone who is looking to make a difference to a business and be an integral part of this growth, whilst managing and developing a small finance team.
The business is looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Controller who has experience of implementing a new finance system, can lead a team through change, review current finance processes with the aim of improving and implementing best practice procedures across the finance function and the wider business.
The role will not only perform the finance related role, but also equip the wider business with financial insights, monitoring performance vs budget and delivering strategic growth ideas to enhance the company's bottom line.
As Financial Controller your role will involve:
- Managing a small finance team.
- Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP finance system
- Reviewing and improve all finance processes and implementing 'best practice' procedures
- Preparation of monthly financial reports including monthly P&L and balance sheet
- Take ownership of and refine the product costing models working with Operations.
- Build the annual budget by pulling together departmental budgets - i.e. sales/marketing/ Ops/HR etc.
- Manage and deliver the annual budget process with senior management to capture the strategic objectives.
- Regular communication with budget holders to review P&L and to hold them accountable
- Work with the business directors to drive performance.
- Production and development of the monthly finance board pack.
- Work with the business directors to drive performance.
- Annual and interim audits
- Sales and KPI analysis
- Margin and profitability reporting
- Providing coaching and training to management teams on cost control activity.
