An established but highly commercial / entrepreneurial business based in Manchester is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join them in order to assist with rapid growth within the sector. Essentially, this is a No.1 in Finance position.

Reporting to an on-site MD, but part of a wider group, you will be responsible for managing a small finance team, ensuring tight reporting deadlines are adhered to, reviewing processes across finance and the wider business to enhance financial and operational controls.
As part of this position you will also be required to develop the existing team in order to improve cost control and give more visibility to budget holders.

As Financial Controller your Key Duties/Responsibilities will be:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts (including variance analysis and investigations) for submission to the MD and JD plc
• Review and check completeness and accuracy of reconciliations prepared by the assistant accountant.
• Prepare schedules for monthly board packs and supplementary information.
• Audit preparation and management.
• Preparation of budgets and monthly reforecasts.
• Weekly Cashflow forecasting.
• Stock and margin reconciliations.
• Review VAT and Intrastat declarations prior to submission.
• Management of the finance team
• Reviewing and improving accounts processes
• Adhoc project work

To apply for the job you must:

• Be ACA / ACCA /CIMA qualified.
• Have experience of managing and developing a finance team.
• Be happy in a hands-on finance position, with a Strong focus on the management accounts.
• Be able to demonstrate experience of working in a well-structured, controlled business in order to support the business through a period of continued growth over the next few years.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a highly flexible entrepreneurial environment and add commercial value to the business.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to integrate with the broader business and become a collaborative partner to the business functions.
