A PE backed business based in Chorley is currently recruiting for a 1st mover from Practice to join the business as a Group Financial Accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly ambitious, newly qualified accountant to work directly alongside a highly experience and supportive Group FC, in order to gain fantastic exposure in a high growth business.
As Group Financial Accountant you will play a key role in assisting with Group reporting and driving the financial controls across the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technical accountant who will gain broad exposure of group finances in a fast paced growing business
As Group Financial Accountant your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the Group Financials including the P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
- Consolidation of the monthly Group accounts and forecast
- Support the GFC with the month end reporting and preparation of financial information for the board meetings
- Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the Group and its Subsidiaries, ensuring they are prepared accurately, together with any relevant notes and working papers
- Assist with the annual external audit process, to ensure audit compliance, and assist with the provision and explanation of accounting information
- Support with tax compliance and submissions, including but not limited to VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, PSA and P11Ds
- Support the GFC with driving the financial controls across the Group; with the view of standardising and developing group wide processes and reporting
- Assist with the various treasury roles within the Group team, including payment approvals, credit cards and reviewing expenses
- Support the Group FC with all HMRC and Companies House filings
- Assistance with preparation of annual Group Budget and forecasting
- Monitor divisional compliance with accounting standards and Group accounting policies. Implementing new and / or updated Accounting standards across the Group where necessary.
- Involvement in a variety of adhoc projects including assistance with potential acquisitions
To apply for the role you must:
- Be newly qualified ACA / ACCA
- Be working within an accountancy firm, Top 10, Mid-Tier or local firm
- Strong academic background
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability and drive to work in a fast paced environment
- A thorough approach to tackling problems and the ability to work methodically
- Time management and the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Team player
- Meticulous attention to detail
- An interest in and understanding of business and finance
- Strong IT and Reporting skills
