Management Accountant

Location: Outskirts of Liverpool (Hybrid Working)
Salary: Up to £65,000 | Contract: Temporary - Ongoing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to take full ownership of the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Capex, Cash Flow reporting, and the ongoing analysis of the company's cost base. This role is ideal for a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who can partner with stakeholders, improve financial visibility, and support informed decision-making across the business.
Working on a hybrid basis, you will join a dynamic organisation located on the outskirts of Liverpool, contributing to high-quality financial reporting and playing a key role in driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Ownership

• 
  Take full ownership of the monthly P&L, ensuring accuracy, variance analysis, and commentary.
• 
  Manage the Balance Sheet including reconciliations, integrity checks, and month-end close processes.
• 
  Prepare, update, and review cash flow forecasts and actual reporting.
• 
  Oversee Capex reporting, tracking spend, forecasting, and ensuring adherence to approvals and policies.

Performance Analysis

• 
  Analyse the company's cost base, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
• 
  Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• 
  Support scenario modelling, forecasting, and budgeting cycles.

Business Partnering

• 
  Build strong relationships with operational and commercial teams to support decision-making.
• 
  Present financial results and analysis in a clear, concise manner to non-finance stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Controls

• 
  Streamline and improve financial reporting processes.
• 
  Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
• 
  Support ad-hoc financial projects and strategic initiatives.

Key Requirements

• 
  Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) or equivalent experience.
• 
  Strong management accounting experience, ideally with ownership of P&L, Balance Sheet, capex, and cash flow.
• 
  Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets.
