Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, Chester based organisation as they look to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and take ownership of the Purchase Ledger process.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a successful and fast paced business with an excellent working culture.

Salary/benefits:

  • £26-30,000pa
  • 37.5 hour week with flexible start and finish times

Job Duties:

  • Accurately process and code supplier invoices into the accounting system
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Proactively query and solve any matching discrepancies
  • Obtain invoice approvals from relevant department managers
  • Request and reconcile monthly supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve payment and invoice queries
  • Assist with process improvement, process mapping and system changes
  • Process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policy
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including aged creditor analysis and accruals/prepayments
  • Provide support on sales ledger and credit control during peak periods or team absences

Ideal experience

  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with a commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; confident using IT systems
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong purchase ledger experience is essential
  • AAT qualified preferred
