Interim Financial Control Lead - System Implementation Project
Location: Knowsley (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
Rate: Up to £450 per day
Duration: 6-9 months
We are currently supporting a well-established business based in Knowsley in their search for an experienced and technically strong Interim Financial Control Lead to manage a key finance system implementation project.
This is a hands-on role requiring a commercially aware finance professional with a solid background in financial controls, process improvement, and project leadership, particularly around transitioning from one finance system to another.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the finance system migration project, ensuring alignment with business timelines and objectives.

  • Act as the finance lead and key liaison between finance, IT, and external implementation partners.

  • Map current processes and controls, and design and embed improved processes in the new system environment.

  • Ensure accurate migration of financial data and historical records, performing detailed reconciliations and validation checks.

  • Drive the development and testing of reports and dashboards required in the new system.

  • Provide training and support to finance users and stakeholders, ensuring successful adoption and minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Maintain robust internal controls throughout the transition, identifying and mitigating financial risk.

  • Document procedures, controls, and workflows to support long-term efficiency and compliance.

  • Monitor project milestones, manage timelines, and report on progress to senior leadership.

  • Identify and address change management challenges, supporting smooth user adoption.

Key Requirements:


  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical grounding.

  • Proven experience delivering finance system change or implementation projects.

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables.

  • Available at short notice or immediately.
