Based in Skelmersdale, you will work a hybrid model.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced part qualified or QBE Management Accountant looking to take on a busy and hands-on Management Accountant role with a real opportunity to add value.

Job Duties:

  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts including analysis and commentary
  • Gathering and analysing trends within an organisation's finances
  • Putting together reports for senior leaders
  • Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
  • Advising on finance-related decisions
  • Developing and managing financial systems/policies.
  • Preparing income statements, balance sheets and other financial documents
  • Measuring the company's financial performance based on financial records
  • Evaluating and monitoring financial information systems and recommending improvements where needed
  • Communicating and interpreting financial data to non-financial managers
  • Be aware of, and understand cost implications on the business. Assist in opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiencies
  • Understand and participate in group initiatives. Identify potential future opportunities for improvement.

Ideal experience

  • Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail\
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of ERP systems and databases useful
  • Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
