Interim Group Financial Controller - 12-Month FTC
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE + benefits
Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Hours: Full-time

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading UK Group in their search for an Interim Group Financial Controller to join their finance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) to take ownership of a well-run finance function, supporting day-to-day operations, financial reporting and team leadership across a group of entities in the UK and Ireland.

Job Duties:

• 
  Prepare monthly management accounts for two entities and quarterly accounts for three others
• 
  Oversee and review VAT returns for the UK and Ireland
• 
  Manage customs reconciliations and ensure accuracy
• 
  Liaise with auditors for preparation of annual accounts and support audit delivery
• 
  Maintain bank accounts and ensure reconciliations are completed
• 
  Lead on stock analysis and accurate stock valuation reporting
• 
  Reconcile fixed assets, including hire fleet assets across the group
• 
  Supervise the Accounts Assistant and Purchase Ledger team
• 
  Maintain the nominal ledger and resolve batch/code issues
• 
  Lead on ad-hoc projects as required by the Group Finance Director
• 
  Contribute to annual budgeting processes and insurance claims
• 
  Manage aspects of the monthly payroll

Ideal Experience:

• 
  Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
• 
  Proven experience in a Group Finance or Financial Controller role
• 
  Strong background in management accounting, audit support, and compliance
• 
  Experience supervising junior finance staff
• 
  Knowledge of VAT, customs, fixed assets, and payroll processes
• 
  Advanced Excel and proficiency in accounting systems
