Commercial Finance Analyst

Location: Liverpool
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially-minded finance professional to join a growing and successful business in Liverpool.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting commercial decision-making, forecasting future performance and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain weekly performance reporting and KPI trackers for operational departments.
• Take ownership of weekly reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
• Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycles.
• Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight.
• Work closely with the Management Accounts team to ensure robust financial reporting.
• Develop reporting tools and models to support business decision-making.
• Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assist with ad hoc commercial finance projects and business initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Active ACCA, CIMA or ACA studies with finalist status preferred.
• Previous experience within commercial finance, financial analysis or a commercially focused management accounts role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial information.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• A proactive approach with a genuine interest in process improvement and driving efficiencies.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business.
• The ambition to progress into a future finance leadership role.
