Interim Finance Manager (Temp-to-Perm)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Location: Chester (3-4 days in office, remainder WFH)
Contract: Initial 6-month FTC with strong potential to become permanent
We are working on behalf of a growing, values-driven organisation to appoint a confidential Interim Finance Manager to support the business during a key period of transition.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership to maintain strong financial control and performance.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function and provide stability, accuracy, and leadership across all financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the day-to-day running of the finance function
* Managing and developing a small finance team
* Owning the month-end process and delivering accurate management accounts
* Ensuring timely balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
* Overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and banking activities
* Supporting cashflow forecasting and financial planning
* Maintaining and improving financial controls, processes, and reporting
* Partnering with operational teams to provide financial insight and support business decisions
About You
We are looking for a proactive and delivery-focused finance professional who can quickly add value in a fast-paced SME environment.
You will ideally have:
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant status
* Previous experience as a Finance Manager (or similar senior role)
* Strong experience managing finance operations and teams
* A hands-on approach with the ability to balance operational and strategic work
* Proven experience improving financial processes and controls
* The ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
