We are seeking an exceptional Project Director - Finance & HR to provide senior leadership, strategic direction, and visible sponsorship for a major Finance & HR ERP transformation programme. This is a pivotal, high‑impact role that will shape future financial stewardship, workforce enablement, data integrity, governance, and organisational efficiency.
Acting as the senior accountable sponsor, you will ensure the programme delivers real organisational value, remains aligned to strategic priorities, and progresses through a disciplined, effective, and transparent governance structure.
This will be a 2 year contract, spanning 3 days per week. Office location is Liverpool city centre.
The Role
As Project Director, you will:
- Provide clear, senior-level leadership across the full system implementation lifecycle.
- Champion the programme's purpose and benefits, promoting understanding and buy-in at all levels.
- Provide strategic challenge around scope, priorities, risks, resourcing, and investment.
- Strengthen governance by ensuring evidence-based decision making, transparent reporting, and robust assurance.
- Monitor programme performance across scope, timelines, budget, compliance, quality, and benefit realisation.
- Support strong cross‑organisational collaboration, including Finance, HR, ICT, Procurement, Data and operational services.
- Resolve barriers to progress, secure required resources, and address risks proactively.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, regulatory, and procurement requirements.
- Drive best practice in risk management, value for money, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the financial governance of the programme and ensure investment remains aligned to organisational priorities.
- Support communication, change management, business readiness, training, and adoption planning across the organisation.
About You
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate substantial senior leadership experience
- Ongoing professional development in digital transformation, governance, or risk management
Experience
- A proven track record of delivering or sponsoring large-scale digital transformation programmes, ideally involving Finance and/or HR systems.
- Strong understanding of Finance and HR systems, processes, and regulatory landscapes.
- Experience working with senior leaders, boards, corporate services teams, and external partners to align strategic outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex programme information and provide evidence-based scrutiny
- Experience guiding cross-functional, matrix‑managed teams through significant change
- A background in the social housing sector or strong understanding of its regulatory environment .
- Experience managing competing priorities in high‑pressure, fast-paced environments
