Reports to: Finance Director

Role Purpose

The Finance Manager is responsible for delivering robust, efficient finance operations that ensure accurate financial records, strong financial controls, and meaningful insights to support organisational performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Controls

• 
  Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate reconciliations, cost control, and timely reporting
• 
  Manage overheads, project recharges, client and supplier PO reconciliations
• 
  Lead finance support for capital projects, tenders, and project quotations
• 
  Monitor project revenues, expenditure, and financial performance
• 
  Review and submit VAT returns and manage HMRC payments
• 
  Maintain strong banking, credit card, and expense management processes

Strategic & Business Support

• 
  Support the Finance Director with financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making
• 
  Contribute to delivery of financial objectives, including net profit targets
• 
  Review and improve finance policies, systems, and processes
• 
  Provide accurate ESG and carbon footprint reporting

Leadership & Team Development

• 
  Develop and motivate a high-performing finance team
• 
  Provide coaching, mentoring, and clear direction
• 
  Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• 
  Lead by example, demonstrating ROI values

Systems & Data

• 
  Maintain accurate, reliable finance data using Sage and related systems
• 
  Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiency
